Wow! I should probably start with an apology! I’ve kept you all waiting too long. My recovery blog was supposed to be weekly, and yet, as I finally sit down to write this I am two weeks and two days out of surgery.
To preface, this series was written in 2017 regarding the two hip surgeries I underwent to fix my labral tears. It was important to document my journey, as so much of my life (in its 20 short years) the physical and mental, has been shaped by the functioning of my hips. Writing is often the way I come to terms with so much of the decisions I make and the situations I am in. I hope you enjoy the sorrow, humor, vulnerability, authenticity, and understanding I poured into these pieces.
